On January 15, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), alongside the Illinois and Minnesota state attorneys general, sued agricultural equipment manufacturer Deere & Company. According to the complaint, by restricting access to a software repair tool necessary for repairing farming equipment, Deere engaged in monopolistic conduct in violation of the Sherman Act and Illinois and Minnesota state antitrust laws, and unfair methods of competition in violation of the FTC Act.
