On August 18, 2025, the FTC filed a lawsuit against a ticket resale operation, alleging that a ticket reseller and its affiliates unlawfully purchased hundreds of thousands of tickets from Ticketmaster in circumvention of Ticketmaster’s ticket purchase limits and then resold the tickets to consumers at a significant markup. The FTC’s lawsuit requests that the court award civil penalties and enter an injunction permanently barring the reseller from making unlawful purchases and resales.
