CFPB Initiates FCRA Rulemaking to Address Identity Theft and Coerced Debt


The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) to address the effects of inaccurate credit reporting affecting survivors of domestic violence, elder abuse, and other forms of financial abuse. The ANPR seeks public comment on potential amendments to Regulation V, which implements the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
