CFPB Orders Cash App Operator to Pay $175 Million for Fraud Protection Failures


The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a consent order requiring Block, Inc., the operator of peer-to-peer payments app Cash App, to pay $175 million for failing to prevent consumer fraud in violation of the Consumer Financial Protection Act and the Electronic Fund Transfer Act.
