The Civilian Office of Police Accountability has opened a formal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by officers with at least one migrant woman temporarily housed at a Chicago police station, NBC Chicago reports. During a Tuesday update, COPA Chief Administrator Andrea Kersten told reporters that “significant” resources have been dedicated to this investigation, which is being led by COPA’s Special Victims Squad.

One day after the allegations surfaced, migrants were moved out of the 10th district police station, but it is unknown where they were transported. After the incident, reports of sexual misconduct have been filed against Chicago PD officers in both the 10th and 19th districts.
