Duplication, Not Imitation, Required for Sound Recording Copyright Infringement: Seventh Circuit


In Richardson v. Kharbouch, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit held. as a matter of first impression, that a plaintiff alleging infringement of a sound recording copyright must present evidence that a defendant copied the specific sound elements of the work at issue.
