Five women are suing the founder of Operation Underground Railroad, an anti-child-trafficking group, for allegedly sexually manipulating, abusing and harassing them on overseas trips designed to lure and catch child sex traffickers, reports Mead Gruver for the Associated Press.
Tim Ballard, whose life story and work were recently dramatized in the 2023 film “Sound of Freedom,” allegedly persuaded the women to participate in a “couple’s ruse” and pose as his wife to fool child sex traffickers into thinking he was a legitimate client, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Utah state court. The lawsuit claims that Ballard took the women on cross-country trips to “practice” their “sexual chemistry” with tantric yoga, couple’s massages with escorts and performing lap dances on him. Several women were eventually subjected to “coerced sexual contact,” including “several sexual acts with the exception of actual penetration, in various states of undress.” Ballard has resigned from the group amid sexual abuse and harassment allegations that he has denied.
