A former adult film actress has passed the February bar exam in Texas after graduating from the St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.
TMZ reports that Jessica Steinhauser, who under the stage name “Asia Carrera” won the 1995 Adult Video News Female Performer of the Year award, is a former adult film star. Additionally, the website said she also has a master’s degree in education.
In a Facebook post made prior to the results being posted, Steinhauser noted that the Texas bar had not given a specific day of when the results were released.
“So I’m just sitting here with my life on complete hold, not sure when or whether I’m going to party my ass off or hang myself from a cat tree,” she wrote on her Facebook page, which is under the name “Asia Carrera-Lemmon.” “I feel like I want to cry, puke and die all at the same time at least once an hour. This is the worst feeling ever!!!”
In another Facebook post, Steinhauser shared that she was a repeat test-taker for the February bar exam and previously missed hitting the 270 pass score by two points. She felt more confident after taking the February bar exam and reported that she finished four different test sections with time to spare.
“There’s just one massive irony here,” Steinhauser wrote. “I’m so damn sick of law I could puke. I’ve never wanted to be a lawyer, I just wanted to prove I could do it!”
In 2016, the Associated Press reported that Steinhauser pleaded no contest to a Utah drunk driving charge, and she was sentenced to house arrest.
Steinhauser did not immediately respond to an ABA Journal interview request via her Facebook page.
