A New Jersey law student has racked up 31 consecutive wins and $882,000 in prize money on “Jeopardy!”—and he’s still in the game show’s running.
Jamie Ding, 33, of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, works for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and is a part-time student at Seton Hall Law. Ding competes again Thursday on “Jeopardy!” and has ensured his place in this year’s Tournament of Champions, according to coverage on Law.com.
“It’s not just that he has been very successful,” Seton Hall Law Dean Ronald Weich said. “But he has carried himself with good grace and excellent attitude. He embodies values that Seton Hall cares about.”
Ding, a 2013 graduate of Princeton University, earned a degree in molecular biology. He is expected to graduate from Seton Hall Law’s “Weekend J.D.” program in 2027.
“I asked Jamie whether any of his success is due to his Seton Hall education, and he said, ‘Yes!’ He’s gotten some questions that relate directly to constitutional law and other subjects that he’s studied, so Seton Hall can take some measure of pride in his success,” Weich told Law.com.
According to the “Jeopardy!” website, Ding’s total winnings so far are $882,605.
