Perhaps it’s appropriate that Jude Law, an actor who once starred in a film in 2001 called A.I. Artificial Intelligence, as well as Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, a movie from 2004 that utilized extensive computer-generated imagery and manipulated audio and video footage to “resurrect” the long-deceased Laurence Olivier, is signing up to be the face of a legal artificial intelligence platform.

On Monday, the two-time Academy Award nominee and former People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” was unveiled as the face of legal AI platform Legora. Announcing that “Law just got more attractive,” Legora stated that the actor would help the company as it embarks on an international expansion while it “continues to scale its presence in key legal markets, such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the EU.”

“Legora asked me to be the new face of their brand. So when you see my face in the future, you can associate it with precise drafting, seamless collaboration and thorough research—powered by AI. Or put simply: making law more attractive,” Law said in a statement.

“We believe this is the most exciting time in history to be a lawyer,” Max Junestrand, the CEO and co-founder of Legora, added. “AI is reshaping how legal work gets done, making it more collaborative and connected. This campaign reflects our ambition to lead that transformation together with our customers—and make law more attractive in the process.”

Based in Stockholm, Legora offers collaborative tools for lawyers and legal professionals, utilizing generative AI to help them draft, research and review documents and forms. The company announced a $550 million Series D funding last month, putting its valuation at $5.55 billion.

According to the statement, Legora will launch in multiple markets throughout the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom and the Nordic region of Europe. The company has grown from 40 to 400 team members over the past year, according to the statement, and it serves over 1,000 lawyers in more than 50 markets.

The deal marks the second major partnership for Legora in the last week. On April 8, the company unveiled a multiyear partnership with the New York Yankees and the team’s slugger, Aaron Judge.

“Preparation and precision are the foundation of everything we build,” Junestrand said in a statement. “Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees embody that standard. This partnership reflects what Legora stands for at its core.”
