PITTSBURGH, PA (September 15, 2023) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Marla N. Presley has officially been sworn in as the president of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA). Her term began on July 1, 2023, and will conclude on June 30, 2024.

Marla serves as both the managing principal and the litigation manager for the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Her practice focuses on the representation of employers in wage and hour disputes, class and collective actions, and claims of discrimination under state and federal law. She has tried a number of cases to verdict and has argued before numerous state Supreme Courts and Circuit Courts.
Marla also provides ongoing advice and counsel for clients, including reviewing and revising employee policies, reviewing and counseling management on termination decisions, and performing complex human resource and wage audits. In addition, Marla routinely provides training to managers and supervisors in all areas of employment law, including supervisory training, sexual harassment prevention, investigation and disciplinary procedures, and leave management.
A significant portion of Marla’s practice is dedicated to the representation of institutions of higher education. In this role, she regularly counsels on Title IX and Clery Act issues and compliance, conducts third-party investigations, develops Title IX/Sexual Violence policies and standard operating procedures, and provides training to Responsible Persons, Investigators and Hearing Panels. She also advises on student and faculty claims, constitutional and state statutory issues, and wage and hour matters.

I was fortunate to have valuable contacts as I was building my career, and I want to continue that process and give back to an organization that gave me so much.”
Marla’s honor of president follows a significant list of previous involvements within the ACBA, including serving as a member of the board of governors, and on committees covering subjects such as finance, labor and employment law section, managing partners, strategic planning, and Women in Law Division. Marla was also a previously elected chair of the Young Lawyers Division and received the ACBA’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.
Marla earned her J.D. from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and her B.A. from the University of Mount Union.
