Our 2024-2025 Annual Report – Stanford Center for Racial Justice

We’re excited to share our 2024-2025 Annual Report, highlighting a productive year of research, policy innovation, and meaningful dialogue on racial justice.

As we celebrate the Center’s 5-year anniversary, this year’s work has been particularly impactful. From our Private Universities in the Public Interest project’s publications on the eroding relationship between America’s universities and society, to the inaugural Harry Bremond-Wilson Sonsini Foundation Fellowship, we’ve expanded our efforts to address critical challenges facing America.

Our research has tackled pressing issues: analyzing California’s Racial Justice Act and its potential to reshape the state’s justice system, exploring AI’s implications for education and public safety, partnering with the San José Unified School District to elevate policy reform ideas of students facing educational challenges, and examining what has—and hasn’t—changed in the regulation of American policing since George Floyd’s murder. Additionally, we’ve redesigned our website and, through our new digital publication, The Brief, we’ve provided timely analysis on everything from the 2024 election’s racial dynamics to emerging developments around AI and corporate DEI initiatives.

We invite you to discover how we’re working to counter division and polarization while developing research-backed solutions that can advance racial justice.
