Copyright Infringement Litigation, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York denied defendant OpenAI’s motion to dismiss a direct copyright infringement claim, finding that a reasonable jury could determine that at least some of the challenged ChatGPT outputs are substantially similar to plaintiffs’ protected works.
