Supreme Court Holds Post-Removal Amendment to a Complaint Deleting Federal Law Claims Divests Federal Court of Supplemental Jurisdiction


In Royal Canin U. S. A., Inc. v. Wullschleger, the US Supreme Court held that when a plaintiff amends their complaint after removal to federal court to eliminate federal claims, it divests the federal court of supplemental jurisdiction to hear its state-law claims.
